My tattoo artist has told me that she does not want to do tattoos on her fingers because of the bad subsequent result, the need to review the lines, etc. Is this true? Do you advise against finger tattoos? Thank you!

Hello, thank you for your question.

Finger tattoos are quite tricky and when you say ‘the need to review the lines’, if you mean the need to regularly touch up the tattoo, then yes that is generally correct due to the wear and tear of hand and finger skin.

We’d advise you to always go with the recommendations of your tattoo artist. You could always do some research, find another artist and ask if they are comfortable doing hand and finger work? A body part one artist is not happy working on, could well be another artists bread and butter!
